Bruce,
Here is another reference to an “ study” about the plant that was discarded.
Please tell me, again, what you think this refers to and how this
misinformation got started. Is it Jensen junk? I will respond to this email
after I hear from you, but I want to be absolutely sure there was no study.
Thanks,
Keith

Subject: Western Wake Regional Waste Water Treatment Plant location
Dear Mayor Weatherly and Apex Town Council,

I am a citizen of Apex, and I am concerned about our town’ part in the siting of the Western
Wake Regional Waste Water Treatment Facility in New Hill.

I am writing to ask that the Apex Town Council request in writing that the Town of Cary vote
to reverse the condemnation of private property for this facility. I further request that the
Western Wake Partners initiate talks with Progress Energy for the purpose of placing the
facility on land near the Shearon Harris nuclear plant on sites that the engineering studies
indicated would be most suitable. I am angered that the results of an exhaustive and expensive
study, partially funded with taxes paid by the citizens of Apex, were discarded.

Furthermore, I am not in favor of the forcible takeover of private property. I feel that the
people of New Hill have been treated unfairly. They have been reasonable in their response
to this issue. I want my elected officials to behave ethically and responsibly. Do the right
thing: insist that this facility be placed on land that was already taken from the citizens
of New Hill. Put the Western Wake Regional Waste Water Treatment Facility on land now owned
by Progress Energy. Begin by writing to your colleagues in Cary and putting a stop to the
condemnation— the land is irreversibly altered.
