Published: Sep 30, 2005 Modified: Sep 30, 2005 8:17 AM Cary is complying Regarding the Sept. 27 People's Forum letter captioned "A document search," the Town of Cary has had numerous contacts with New Hill Association representative Lisa Dahlquist during the past several months in an attempt to clearly understand and completely fulfill what have often been vague and global requests for public information about the Western Wake Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities. On Sept. 1, a New Hill representative came to Cary Town Hall and collected from our town clerk copies of all the e-mails in her possession -- including those of the Town Council. On Sept. 21, separate public records requests were made of other Cary staff by New Hill, and these staff are pulling together those materials at this time. In Cary, we take very seriously our responsibility to support the provisions of the state Public Records Law. We know the law, appreciate its tremendous importance in helping to ensure transparent government and follow the law to the letter -- every time. Despite continued false allegations questioning the integrity of our organization, the Town of Cary will continue vigorously supporting the law by providing all interested parties with access to and copies of public records as soon as possible on any topic.
