RESOLUTION REQUESTING FULL EVALUATION OF ADDITIONAL 
                WASTEWATER SITES BY THE WESTERN WAKE PARTNERS

WHEREAS, the presently selected Site C for the Western Wake Wastewater Facility is located in the historic district 
of the New Hill community.

WHEREAS, the presently selected Site C for the Western Wake Wastewater Facility is located near the intersection 
of two major highways where smart planning places commercial development

WHEREAS, the site assessment by the partnership consultant, Hazen and Sawyer, describes a site (20) on Progress 
Energy land that provides for minimum impact on the New Hill community.

WHEREAS, two sites possibly preferable to Site C exist one mile and five miles SSW of Site C, and whereas these 
sites were not considered in the site evaluation process.

WHEREAS, a detailed cost analysis needs to be provided for all five sites Hazen and Sawyer considered most 
favorable, and for the unevaluated site one mile SSW of Site C.
 
WHEREAS, inadequate time was provided for public evaluation and comment before the final Site C selection was 
approved.

WHEREAS, the Apex Board of Commissioners never voted to approve the selected Site C.

WHEREAS, the New Hill community will eventually become an integral part of The Town of Apex, and the 
selection of the present Site C will be detrimental to the development of this community.


NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Apex expresses its 
desire to continue and expand the site evaluation process for the Western Wake Wastewater Facility to ensure that 
the selection of the most equitable location is made for all concerned.
