SUBJECT: Selected Sites for Western Wake Regional Wastewater
Management Facilities

Dear Mayor McAlister:

In accordance with the provisions of Amendment No. 1 to Interlocal Agreement
For Regional Wastewater Management Facilities Land Acquisition and
Preliminary Work, dated January 26, 2005, we wish to notify Cary, which is
acting as the lead agency for the Western Wake Partners, that Apex agrees with
and concurs in the selection of the sites for:

• West Cary Regional Wastewater Pump Station site (as recommended in Section 2 of the Brown and Caldwell PER)

• Beaver Creek Regional Wastewater Pump Station site (as recommended in Technical Memorandum No. 10)

• Regional Water Reclamation Facility and Effluent Pump Station (as recommended in Technical Memorandum No. 8.1)

These sites are those sites which have been recommended by the Western
Wake Partners Technical Advisory Committee, comprised of staff members from
each of the partner towns, including Apex staff, and are those sites which are the
most environmentally suitable, have the least impact on property owners and are
the most cost effective sites for this project.
